The Amazon Logistics (AMZL) Central Operations Area Manager, Central Operations ensures positive interactions between Delivery Service Partners and logistics specialists and delivers on operational objectives. Through the use of tools, management of a team of logistics specialists, and coordination with various partners. Area Managers are accountable for cost, customer experience, and delivery partner experience. In addition, you will be instrumental in developing best practices and standard work for the network. Area Manager, Central Operations will serve as problem solver and primary escalation point for the team, provide periodic updates to Senior Managers about status of the operation or any major escalations, allocate labor and train new associates, drive continuous improvement into our operation, and enforce Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) compliance and Service Level Agreement response times.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of Logistics Specialists on their day to day operations
- Allocate staff and labor to match business needs
- Manage schedule and shift changes
- Train and mentor employees and peers
- Instrumental in developing new standard work for the network based on data observations and feedback
- Responsible for excellence in standard work and SOP compliance of Logistics Specialists
- Dedicated to support recruiting needs: interviews, phone screens, etc.
Basic Qualifications
- 1+ years of employee and performance management experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- Can push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds during shifts
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience
