ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Educational Leadership

  • Establish and maintain a positive school climate that enhances teaching and learning
  • Lead curriculum development and implementation aligned with Maine's Learning Results
  • Guide instructional improvement through effective supervision and evaluation
  • Inspire and motivate staff to achieve the highest standards of educational excellence

Community Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with students, families, and community members
  • Serve as liaison between the school and the community
  • Foster understanding and support for school objectives and programs
  • Interpret and implement school policies and procedures

Administrative Excellence

  • Oversee school operations, budget, and resource allocation
  • Supervise and evaluate all administrative, certified, and support staff
  • Maintain high standards of student conduct with fair, consistent discipline
  • Lead school improvement initiatives

Professional Development

  • Facilitate meaningful professional growth opportunities for all staff
  • Stay current with educational trends, research, and best practices
  • Contribute to district-wide initiatives and administrative team efforts

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Maine Department of Education Building Administrator Certificate 040 or ability to obtain within three years
  • Successful experience in an educational leadership role
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong supervision and evaluation abilities
  • Elementary classroom teaching experience
  • Working knowledge of elementary curriculum and assessment

  • Demonstrated success in improving student achievement
  • Experience with data-driven decision making
  • Proven ability to build a positive school culture
